And a reminder for those who will be fasting: start drinking a lot of liquids now to make sure you begin the fast well hydrated. It also helps to wean off of caffeine to avoid the caffeine-withdrawal headache, but if you are even a moderate coffee-drinker, you need to have started that process some days ago. Tomorrow, I will be down to just a quarter cup (mixed with 3/4 cup of decaf) and Friday I will drink only decaf with a lot of water. I am so grateful that the heat wave we had here in Chicago during Rosh Hashanah has finally broken so that the weather will be cool for Yom Kippur.
