Has anyone read "Captivity"? It's a historical novel about a young Roman Jew set in the 1st century CE. It's quite dense and didactic, so I found it hard to get into at first. But now I find it really gripping and can't put it down. The author is a Hungarian who converted to Judaism.
That does sound interesting. I enjoy reading about that period. Have you finished it now?
Sorry for the late reply. I haven't finished it yet because I always have several books on the go at once. I would definitely recommend it though. It starts off slow but gets a lot funnier. The protagonist also develops a lot and I really like him now.
